Friday nights at the Wine Cellar are cool fun, so it’s pretty awesome that they’re letting us spread out music all over the place this Friday 9th July. Black Science is joining us on the carpet to play some sweet tunes. Doors open at 8pm, and we’ll be all wrapped up by 11pm so you can get a good night’s sleep to do whatever noisy junk you do while I’m trying to sleep on Saturday mornings like a normal person.

Don’t forget to RSVP on Facebook so you can export it to your iCal and have your iPhone tweet it to you on the airplane.

Late notice on this one, but we’re playing live on 95bfm here in Auckland tomorrow morning as their Fancy New Band. Tune in to the Morning Glory and hear us rant and sing from about 10:15am. It will be our pleasure.

Last November we threw a little show at the Wine Cellar, which was actually our first show as a band. It was the release party for Beg Steal and Burrow, and our good friend Mr Slackjaw was going to join us in support. Things didn’t work out and Mr Slackjaw couldn’t play, but we never forgot that it was a great idea.

My point is: we’ve finally knitted our schedules together to put on a show on Saturday June 5. From the Facebook event page:

Promises were made, when Canadia and Mr Slackjaw were younger, promises of fidelity and rockingness. But life, o life! as it so often does had other plans for this lad and lass.

Spun out on some separate trip, they’re only just now getting pinned down at the party pit that is the Wine Cellar. Bride of Pinbot will serve as celebrant, and you’re all bridesmaids.

Excuse me while I walk around and drink some more.

Yule’s coming out of some kind of hiatus with a new band line-up next Thursday 6 May, and Canadia is there, also. Come check the music action from 11pm at Whammy Bar for radness and radulence.

I finally took the plunge and got Canadia aggregated a couple weeks back, simply because I realised that sometimes I wanted to browse the iTunes store on my iPod Touch and look at my own music. That is an important part of life.

And so it goes that Canadia now lives on iTunes. And on Amplifier and Digirama. It should be on the Vodafone Music Store soon, and it could already be on the Telecom Music Store (I don’t have a fancy XT phone to find out). Don’t say I don’t provide options!

The music is till available for however much or little you want to pay at Bandcamp, where you can also find Beg Steal and Burrow can still be had on good old faithful CD.

It was a pretty long day of shooting, and not particularly rewarding, and James and I laughed about it later. When I did eventually see the clip I didn’t like it at all, and kind of forgot about it.

Until yesterday when James told me he’d seen it online.

This is where things get fun, though. In the Related Videos section was a show reel from a YouTube user called theashleynoel (OMG same name!), an actress and host of a show that had Joey Lawrence on a judging panel. Best related video suggestion ever? A bald Joey Lawrence sure ranks up there.

I followed my namesake to her website, and from there to a website she runs called UNYTED! I have no idea what it does, but as I scrolled down the page I came across this amazing image:

Can anyone say best day ever? Not only am I internected (patent pending) to Joey Russo and D.J. Tanner, but we all get a Candace Cameron movie! No more information yet, but I’ll be sure to follow this one up.
