I’m putting on a solo show with my quiz buddies Rose and the Wooden Hearts and Ulysses Wulf. Click on over to the Facebook event and let us know you’re coming. Thinking I might bust out the uke for this one.
Only, okay, so this year October 23 is a Sunday, which is just not going to work out too well for a gig, so we’re hosting Canadia Anniversary Day (Observed) this year on Friday October 21.
We’ve got Heartspells and Great North joining us, and it will be the debut show for our new guitarist Thomas Landon-Lane. He can really wail, guys! He had to take over when the might Blair Wayne moved to South Africa to become Ross Geller. Very proud we are of him! That’s Blair on the poster looking suave as all hell. I think that was the summer he worked on his music.
Get on down to the Facebook event, and we’ll see you at Wine Cellar on Friday October 21. First band on at 8pm.
We’re playing a couple of songs on 95bFM’s Breakfast Club tomorrow morning, coming to you direct out of Alleluya in St Kevin’s Arcade. Our set starts at 8:30am, and you can listen in on your radio, online or in the flesh at Alleluya on K Road.
Hello persons! I am playing a solo Canadia show on Tuesday 7th July, alongside Luckless and Bannerman. Canadia’s own Will Wood has been and will be drumming good for Luckless. You might remember that all three bands appeared on the A Very Little Christmas compilation.
The gig’s at Tabac in Mills Lane, Auckland Central.
For enhanced good times make sure you network yourselves on the Facebook event. RSVP or it will have didn’t happened!
Just in time for our Best Friends Reunion a short film about Vibracamp has appeared online. Check Canadia out in its natural environment: inside wearing sunglasses on a bright sunny day or eating cheap noodles.
Canadia got pretty friendly with Silke and Yule and the Telemetrics over New Years, so much so that we still talk. We remain friends! That’s saying a lot, really. A lot of people who have spent time with me would not do that. They leave me alone with my slippers and my brans, and go to the skates park or the zoo.
BUT NOT TODAY, INTERNET. Today I announce that we’re all playing a gig at the Wine Cellar on Thursday 7th April, and it is going to be well biscuits. The first act is up at 8pm so that public transport fans will be able to get away in time for the last bus. If you try to play it safe and catch the second-last bus you might hurt our feelings.
Lucky old Canadia got picked to open the Friday night show for Auckland’s new musical comedy, None Tree Hill. It’s a show about a band’s first gig going wrong wrong wrong.
From the leafy suburb of Devoport, ‘NTH’ as they are affectionately called by lead singer Jason Beaumont, are pumped and rehearsing around the clock Fridays and Saturdays from 5-6:30 at Devonport Anglican Church in preparation for their… debut show at legendary establishment, The Wine Cellar.
With up to four different chords in every song and lyrics that sound as if “a human heart grew arms and learnt to use a pen”, NoneTreeHill urge you to catch them while they are still so inexpensive and/or together.
It’s at the Wine Cellar tonight from 8pm. Adult $16, Conc $13, Group $13. You can make a booking by emailing nonetreehilllive@gmail.com.
